Troy Stordy is entering his second season in the BCEHL. Stordy has previously worked as the Vice President of Mission Minor Hockey Association since 2010. He has also served as the development director and a coach in the association.

Stordy, who currently lives in Mission, earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Simon Fraser University. Away from the rink Stordy currently works as a Correctional Program Officer.

U18 AAA

Riley Emmerson

Riley Emmerson

Head Coach

Riley Emmerson is entering his third season with the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds and his sixth in the BCEHL. Previously,  he was with the Valley West Giants for three years. He was a player coach with the Edinburgh Capitals of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) in the U.K. during the final season of his playing career, which was also the start of his coaching career. He loves the challenge of pushing players to their best both on and off the ice. His coaching career highlight was a 16 round shootout win against the Greater Vancouver Canadians in the Pat Quinn Tournament.

Before Emmerson started coaching, he carved himself out a successful playing career, playing 10 years of professional hockey. In 2005 he was drafted to the National Hockey League by the Minnesota Wild and played in the East Coast Hockey league (ECHL), American Hockey League (AHL), Central Hockey League (CHL), and the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).

In his first season in the BCEHL, Ralph Vos assumes the position of head coach with the U17 Fraser Valley Thunderbirds. Involved in hockey for 20 years, Vos served as a development coach with Abbotsford Minor Hockey Association from 2008-2016. Presently, he owns and operates Vos Hockey Development which focuses on small group and one-on-one hockey skill development.

In his first season in the BCEHL, Ralph Vos assumes the position of head coach with the U17 Fraser Valley Thunderbirds. Involved in hockey for 20 years, Vos served as a development coach with Abbotsford Minor Hockey Association from 2008-2016. Presently, he owns and operates Vos Hockey Development which focuses on small group and one-on-one hockey skill development.

Originally from Abbotsford, Vos played two seasons at the Junior A level between 1997-2002. Away from the rink, Vos works in the family logistics business.

Bronson Sharp

The 2024-25 season will mark the second season in the BCEHL and first as head coach for Bronson Sharp. Previously an assistant coach with the U18 AAA Fraser Valley Thunderbirds during the 2021-22 season, Sharp joins the U15 Thunderbirds as head coach for the upcoming season.

The 2024-25 season will mark the second season in the BCEHL and first as head coach for Bronson Sharp. Previously an assistant coach with the U18 AAA Fraser Valley Thunderbirds during the 2021-22 season, Sharp joins the U15 Thunderbirds as head coach for the upcoming season.

Sharp brings four seasons of Major Junior experience to Fraser Valley, playing with the Portland Winterhawks and Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League from 2015-2019. Sharp grew up in Mission and got his start in hockey with Mission MHA. He is a graduate of the University of Fraser Valley and currently owns his own hockey skills business where he works with players at the NHL, AHL, Collegiate, WHL and AAA levels.
